From my life's journey I have gained much experience over the years from the developing toddler attached to crayons, felt tip pens and lego, to painting miniatures and selling at craft fairs as a school girl. I then learnt how to paint bone china and porcelain and also dabbled with sculpture. I eventually realised my dream of becoming a professional mural artist in my 30s. I am now so very happy (and it gives me great pleasure) to have the opportunity to pass on the joy of painting to anyone who would like to join me at Easel Weasel, whether you have experience or none at all, please do come and find and develop your hidden or developing artistic creativity.
As a professional muralist for 11 years, specialising in trompe l'oeil (trick of the eye) techniques, I have an informative and relaxed approach to working with acrylics and mixed media. Although photo realism painting in acrylics was essential in creating a painting illusion, I have also worked more recently with impasto and mixed media using acrylics. I'm a former member of the Association of Professional Muralists and I've also appeared on television and radio.
My mural commissions were mainly for private clients. However, I was commissioned to paint a mural panel for the maternity unit of St Johns Hospital in Chelmsford, I was also commissioned by businesses and restaurants. At Tarantino's Italian Restaurant in Brentwood I painted the whole restaurant depicting trompe l'oeil scenes of Venice. Some time later I was contacted Lime Pictures, the production company of The Only Way is Essex, for permission use the murals as a backgrounds in their filming.
