Community Action Dacorum serves the communities of Dacorum and surrounding areas in the areas of Community | Employability | Wellbeing . Our community includes individuals and organisations in the area where we work to improve the quality of life for local residents
The Repair Shed is just one of many projects run by Community Action Dacorum and it brings older people, usually men, together to stay healthier and happier for longer by making, mending and learning. Our Repair Shed helps combat the challenges of isolation and the loss of social continuity associated with aging by providing a supportive environment in which older people who are practically minded and want to make things, do repairs, share skills and learn new ones. Whilst the Shed movement was started by men, everyone is welcome, we even have a “Sewing Café” at our Redbourn Shed.
As part of the Repair Shed we will help you “make do and mend”, upcycle existing clothes and furnishings or show you how to start from scratch using your own fabric and pattern. Support is available for all levels.
Thursdays 10.00 am – 12.30 at the Repair Shed in St Luke’s School, Redbourn.
The cost per person per session is £5.00 payable on the day.
